  2. The song contained within the zip file is called "Echo Of Bright Star".
  3. A track that was ultimately a lot of fun to produce and still sounds fresh
  4. even after our obligatory 1,000 listen Mix stage !
  5.  
  6. For more details on obtaining tapes of RR material, email us at any of
  7. the addresses shown. Also as usual, the track is somewhere in the region
  8. of 5-7 mins long, which is partly the reason for it's HUGE file size.
  9. Many apologies for these extreme sizes but both the material and the
  10. samples take up lots of space - you will see why when you play the file...

  12. Who are REBEL RIFFS ?
  13.  
  14. An unusual entity which combines the talents of a top flight record producer,
  15. a seasoned arranger, vulgar and ill-mannered musicians of all shapes and sizes
  16. and as many samples and patches as we can lay our hands on ! We have several

  28. The REBEL RIFFS  Music
  29.  
  30. Mostly made these days on Fast Tracker II in XM format, although earlier tracks
  31. were released in a GUS only 'demo' type format but we switched in order for
  32. more folks to hear the Rebs in action. A full discography can be found at the
  33. end of this file. All XM's are tested on a variety of soundcards (best on a GUS
  34. or an AWE32 obviously :-) ) and players including Cubic Player (the best of the
  35. best !) for DOS and Mod4Win for Windoze (the best for Windoze but where's the
  36. Windows tracker ??).

  38. The Samples
  39.  
  40. Being the aural magpies we are, the samples we use come from everywhere (but
  41. special thanks to Sound & Vision BBS, SunSite Europe for their extensive patch
  42. libraries).  Patches used in the very latest tracks may also come from the
  43. excellent SoundWave collection from Chad Gould (cgould@gate.net) and from the
  44. ever-expanding collection of great sample CD's from Time and Space
  45. (http://www.timespace.com) and the utterly superb 'Cube' samples from Best
  46. Service (http://www.bestervice.de/). Other than that, the main vocal and fx
  47. samples come from the following Internet Newsgroups: alt.binaries.sounds.movies,
  48. alt.binaries.sounds.misc, alt.binaries.sounds.cartoons, alt.binaries.sounds.tv
  49. etc. You will also find Rebel Riffs themselves are active on most of the 'binary'
  50. and 'mod' type newsgroups (ie alt.binaries.sounds.mods etc).
